and has multiple warrants and a locked briefcase in his possession. Law enforcement takes him into custody on the out of county warrants, find a hand gun in his pocket, and they want to get into the briefcase. What grounds do they have? Does the inventory policy allow them to pop the lock? Any additional evidence of UCW to be found in the breifcase? They have no PC of illegal activity beyond the fact that the guy is a well known drug dealer. K-9 does not alert on the briefcase. Local detective has asked for general guidance in the future and, quite frankly, I'm trying to "research" as efficiently as possible. Thanks ahead of time. | ||
