Were the robbers' semiautomatics all show and no go? The CHL holder must have surprised the heck out of them--like the chl holder who took out the carjacker, I think in Florida.

If you ask the guy who showed up at hospital with a hole through the top of his foot, in addition to the one in the butt inflicted by the CHL holder, I'm thinking he'd say his was fully functional, but might benefit from a bit heavier trigger.
