Harris County prosecutor Alison Baimbridge thought it was unusual that the woman found behind the wheel in a fatal wreck just before midnight on July 3 had a seat belt burn on her right side.

She did the right thing. I guess it shows how overworked the presenting detective, the intake attorney and the Grand Jury were.

Overworked is not an excuse to messing up. Investigating officers/ detectives, intake attorneys, and Grand Juries have a duty to do their job before throwing someone in jail. I know how it works. Detective does his/her job without thinking outside the box and gets it to intake attorney. Intake attorney READS the report and takes it to GJ. Intake Attorney presents to Grand Jury. NO ONE has done any investigation whatsoever and the GJ hears what the IA decides to tells them. Yes, we are overworked, but people's lives are on the line.

BRAVO to the prosecutor who took the time.
