Anyone have any experience using this provision? Plea / Judgment in Abstentia?

I'll second the question...has anyone used it for absentia misdemeanor pleas? I'm constantly being asked to allow defendants to enter a plea by mail for a fine only. I'm probably more comfortable trying to create something for represented defendants...but the others??!!
