First of all, on a personal note I'm glad these are now Class C misdemeanors. However, I was just wondering what other counties are doing with certain enhanced DWLIs. Specifically, the case where the person's DL is suspended because of surcharges resulting from an ALR suspension. The 90 or 180 day suspension is completed but the person did not pay the surcharge. Therefore, DPS still has the person's DL suspended.

Is this still considered a suspension for a "DWI-related offense"?

My initial reaction is that it is not.

Any thoughts?
