Brazoria County DA, Jeri Yenne, has filed a request for an AG opinion asking for clarification of the definition of a "master planned community" as it applies to operation of golf carts on public roads in Texas. This has been a constant issue for our Troopers because the statute is somewhat vague and there is no other defintion of the term in any statute. As gas prices rise, our Troopers are seeing more and more golf carts being operated for general transportation. If this is an issue in our county, you might want to file an amicus brief with the AG. Just a thought.
