Supporters launch PR campaign to win Roddy Pippin's release. By Mike Ward AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF Tuesday, November 10, 2009 Chances are, no other Texas convict has a music video pleading his case. Or a Facebook page, a Twitter account or a public relations firm. Then again, Roddy Dean Pippin is no ordinary prisoner, a baby-faced 25-year-old who was once dubbed the Last Rustler for his exploits at stealing cows and whose acute diabetes made him a poster boy for early release. Despite cries that to send him back behind bars might be a death sentence, Pippin was headed back to a state jail Monday for violating his release terms � after surrendering Sunday on horseback at North Texas' Hardeman County Jail � to serve the remaining four years of his sentence. ---snip--- web page | ||
