Our Commissioners Court is considering, at a HOA request, enacting wholesale the Transportation Code on Private Streets in a residential subdivision; Denton County, with AG approval, has done this & reports no complaints. I think that may exceed the Commissioners authority. My worry is that a stop for an expired registration, for example, may result in an search & arrest which will be suppressed & subsequent civil suit

I would share your concerns, Joe. These are still private streets being "taken" by Commissioners Court action.
