Death by Threesome

I couldn't decide whether to post this in "You Can't Make This Up" or "A Frog is a Deadly Weapon".

"A Gwinnett County jury on Tuesday awarded $3 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit to survivors of a 31-year-old husband and father of two who died while having sex one day before he was scheduled to have a heart stress test. The unusual lawsuit arose after the Lawrenceville man died on March 12, 2009, while engaging in a threesome with a friend and a woman who was not his wife."

Rough Justice--Murderer eaten by bear

The body of a missing convicted murderer was dragged out of a car by a bear that ate part of it and buried the rest, authorities in Canada said Saturday, according to reports.
Rory Nelson Wagner, 53, was out on parole from a murder sentence when he vanished from Kamloops, British Columbia, on May 23, CTV reported.
The black bear was later euthanized by conservation officers, CTV said late Saturday.
The Vancouver Sun said Wagner and two others were charged with killing a man who they believed had sexually assaulted their family member.

So what did the bear do that was so wrong? It ate a little carrion and properly disposed of the carcase! Although,a bearskin rug always looks good.

Poor bear. The article said that it dragged the guy's body out of the car, not that it actually attacked and killed him, so why was it euthanized?

A television meteorologist in Tennessee was shot with a crossbow by a man who had threatened to kill him and vandalized his car, according to media reports.

Robert William Batot, 43, known on the air for WJHL as Rob Williams, was wounded early Monday when Gerald D. Taylor, 53, broke into his home in Johnson City, the Johnson City Press reported, citing court documents and police. WJHL reported that Williams and Taylor had shared a house but Williams got a restraining order against him on May 29.

The Press report said that police were called to Williams' house early Monday and found him with the bolt, or arrow, fired from the crossbow sticking from his chest.

NB. Some might think it a better fit in the "Frog is a Deadly Weapon" thread, but a crossbow? Seriously?

Calling John Stride...

Man sentenced to additional eight years in prison after "[t]he llama incident returned with a vengeance."

(The short version: Man gets misdemeanor animal cruelty charge for animal abandonment, namely letting his llama wander out of its pen. A few years later, the feds notice him growing marijuana plants instead of raising llamas. Instead of the 18-24 month sentence he would otherwise have gotten, the llama conviction raised it to a mandatory minimum of 10 years. The appellate court decided the llama conviction shouldn't count and sent it back for resentencing.)

Driver of hearse dies at the wheel while taking body to funeral

(Reminds me of my great-uncle. He was late for everything. The family got to the cemetery after the services, and we waited, and waited...finally the hearse arrived. It had gotten stopped by a train. Only Uncle Buddy could be late to his own funeral.)
