Officers and prosecutors needing copies of ALR hearing recordings may obtain them from the State Office of Administrative Hearings. For the past year or so, SOAH has been making digital recordings. The retention schedule is 60 days from the decision date, or three years for cases appealed. When I was with DPS these could be requested easily in writing from the field office at SOAH assigned the hearing. Officers could get the recording by email or on a CD supplied by the officer and keep it with their file for the DWI case.
