an officer in my district is investigating an obscene phone call case to a land line. The provider is Verizon. Verizon says that they don't keep records of incoming calls to land lines in the normal course of business, but can render a report for a $300 fee. They are citing federal statute 18 USCA 2706 (see also 18 USCA 2703) and a seventh circuit fed case (Ameritech v. McMann 1995) for the proposition that they can properly charge a fee for this information. anyone else had this problem? How did you handle it? | ||
