PC 12.43 Habitual Misdemeanor Enhancement

Are there any County Court prosecutors out there who regularly use 12.43 to enhance misdemeanors? If so, is it effective, helpful, etc., or not? Any drawbacks?

We use it every chance we get. It gives you a 30 or 90 day minimum sentence, which is very helpful in obtaining plea agreements.
