Simple question....Is a Texas Peace Officer protected under the Castle Doctrine, specifically, if the intruder is inside the officer's house?

To my knowledge the same law of self-defense applies to all persons. So, a peace officer, just like anyone else, has no duty to retreat if the person is attacked in a place where he or she has a right to be present.
