Can the State object to an examining trial on grounds the result would be mooted by an INS (or any other) hold?

We just did a bond hearing here and the bonds which these people can often make on INS holds are astoundingly low. We have a murder def. with 2 counts and six figure bonds on each...INS sent someone to testify (at our request and we was very helpful) who testified that the bond on his INS hold would likely not exceed $1,500.00 even considering that he was clearly in the country illegally and charged with such heinous crimes. I don't know that the INS hold has much value.

And here I thought they meant something. Never mind. (We're able to indict him prior to examining trial setting.)
