We have a shaken baby case coming for trial and our investigator wanted to use a demonstrative video in front of the jury to show how much force is actually required to cause the injuries we have in our case. Issue 1: Has anyone not been able to get this in because of a 403 objection? Issue 2: Has anyone ever used one of these videos and did you feel like it aided the jury in making a decision?

Sasha Rutizer, from the National District Attorneys Association, showed us one of the videos she used, for demonstrative purposes. Try emailing her and see if she can help. srutizer@ndaa.org

Recently we discovered a tremendous resource in Fort Worth where there is a "Shaken Baby" Foundation/Office that set up to assist Prosecutors in handling these cases. The Director is a wealth of knowledge of cases around the state and has worked extensively with the Attorney General Offices It is likely she (Director) can send you to other prosecutors who have encountered these specific questions. You also might to call Lisa Tanner or Missy Wolfe of the Attorney General Office as they directed me to Fort Worth Office. Also Tarrant County DA Office has specialized division for Domestic Violence/Child Abuse cases. Best of Luck to you. Bill Helwig Yoakum County District Attorney
