Def. pleas to 10def for Agg Sex 9-6-88. On 6-19-95, judge enters "Order Placing Defendant on Inactive Probation" which seems to require that he continue to abide by conditions, but does not have to report, pay fees, etc. Defendant is not reporting when sex offender registration comes into being, so no one tells him he has to register. 9-6-1998, cause is dismissed because " said sentence has expired". We discover all this when he picks up a misdemeanor, then asks for E.T. on the misdemeanor case. Everything I can find indicates he must register. Anybody have any input either way?
