In a criminal case, the clerk receives exhibits at the conclusion of the case and holds them until they are claimed (by the applicable party) or if not claimed, disposed of after a certain period of time. Must the clerk provide viewing access or copies of exhibits to members of the public upon request? Are the exhibits court records once the case has concluded, or are they held by the clerk only as agent for the party who introduced them? Or does the clerk hold the exhibits as agent for the court reporter, in which case requests for copies of those exhibits should go to the court reporter? | ||
