Does a county have to provide payment for ambulance rides to the hospital, or transfers to a larger health care facility, as part of its indigent care obligation? Or, is it we will provide you care if you can somehow drag yourself to the ER, but we won't pay for the ride. County currently has a contract with a private company to provide ambulance service and pays them a yearly supplement. In the process of negotiating a new agreement and looking at alternatives and other providers, including operating the ambualnce service out of the county owned hospital ER. Any help? | ||
