We have had a couple from the Geneological Society of Utah diong digital imaging of our oldest records. In case anyone is considering allowing them in and worried - they are wonderful. Minimal - if that - disruption of the courthouse routine; mended old books that were falling apart; found - and shared - some hillarious old records.

The records that they are preserving are those that we need very rarely, so would not spend the $ to do ourselves. They do not charge us anything, and we have access to their work through the state library, if needed.

Our couple is packing to leave today; they don't know for sure where they will be sent after doing some cemetary records in San Antonio - but if you get them, you are lucky!
