Our 20 year old Flood Control ordinance was passed with no penalty for violating it. As a general rule, new homes always have flood permits, because we won't give you a septic permit without one, and lenders usually ask. But we now have an issue with people doing things
that affect out flood zones, but who are not building a house.

Does anyone have a local ordinance tha provides for penalties, and experience getting them to stick?

Do you have a local flood plain supervisor who theoretically enforces per FEMA and TCEQ rules?

We are still working on this. I would appreciate an emailed copy of flood permit rules from any county that has them, just to see what other people are doing.
