You know its budget time when department heads get creative on use of $ and want an answer yesterday! County clerk wants to use the 118.011 LGC funds for salary supplements. AG opinion GA 0118 seems to allow it "to the extent that the employee accomplishes...the purpose". How is this determined? We have 3 deputy clerks. One is basically criminal, and presumably doesn't do much "records management" under the statute. Another does basically probate and the third bats clean up. Do we determine percentage of time spent on records management per employee and that employee gets a supplement not to exceed that percentage? Talk about a mess. I'm getting the "but other people do it" routine. Who is doing it - and how? Any suggestions? THanks | ||
