For any of you fighting the battle against junked vehicles, the AG released a new opinion last Friday that didn't do us any favors. It's GA-0034. The issue was whether the county can regulate the type of material used to "screen" a junked vehicle from pubic view. The AG said we can't import the screening requirements that apply to junkyards and auto salvage lots and apply them to the garden variety, private citizen's junked vehicle collection. As I recall, the DA who requested the opinion complained that owners were just throwing tarps over the vehicles or making a screen out of obnoxious materials like cardboard boxes. The AG said that's OK and there's nothing we can do about it. | ||
