I received a Open Records request today for any contracts, solicitations and such with WestLaw. I will reply that that contracting on WestLaw is handled in our county through the County Judge/Auditor office. Nevertheless I am curious about what is going on. I know that LexisNexis has been dogging WestLaw (West-Thomson) for years about anti-trust violations/restraint of competition activities because they claim that West has made public documents their domain and in essence copyrighted case law and statutes. Anyone know what the current status is? I googled and only found older cases. I am more curious why they are bugging us county types. John Hutchison Hansford County Attorney | ||
