Does the Court have the power to reduce the determinate sentence of a juvenile at a release or transfer hearing. We had a hearing last week where the Judge transferred the juvenile to TDCJ-ID but reduced the original sentence of 15 years down to 11 years. The only case I have found that is somewhat on point is distinguishable because the sentence reduction occurred on a motion for review hearing held 13 years after the transfer hearing. John P.
