I need to obtain CPS records from San Diego County CPS in California, for a criminal Child Endangerment Case. I have been told by their CPS legal liason that they can not release the records to me, even under subpoena, unless I file a Petition with the Juvenile Division Court, and the Court orders the release. Has anyone ever been able to get California CPS records in the past without filing the Petition? If not, does anyone have a format for a Pro Hac Vice Motion that they would be willing to share?

Have your attorney draft a motion and file it in your court. Once your judge grants the motion then contact the local prosecutor in Calf. They can file that for you in their court and if their judge releases the records, then they can send them to you.
