The Defendant is in our county jail for misdemeanor charges serving time. An out of county Municipal Judge asked the JP in our county "to place a hold on the Defendant" for a traffic violation in her county.

Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 15 states that the other county may forward the warrant to our county, 15.08. And that the Defendant can be magistrated for the traffic offense, 15.18.

However, I can not find a statute that authorizes our county placing a "detainer" or "hold" on the defendant and to notify the other county when the defendant has finished serving time for the offense in our county.

Further, I can not find authority that once the "hold" is placed on the defendant he gets credity for time served.
