Not sure if this topic has been discussed previously.

Our District Clerk has recently decided to begin implementing these orders under 501.014 of the Government Code.

The question is what other counties are using these orders and how successful have they been? My biggest concern is are these orders an impediment to plea bargaining? Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Just in case anyone missed it (being a decision from the Supreme Court rather than the Court of Criminal Appeals): Harrell v. State, 286 S.W.3d 614, from June of this year. In a nutshell: due process is satisfied by giving the inmate a copy of the withdrawal order at the time the withdrawal is performed.

This took a big chunk out of my life last year....

Has there been any action in the Texas Supreme Court case that should settle the issue?
