The Finance Code exempts us from the requirement to pay for copies of bank records but it applies to "financial institutions" only. Does anyone know of a similar statute regarding cell phone records? Got a company wanting us to pay for records under subpoena.

See CCP 18.21 Kind of confusing - Law enforcement and the phone company may "agree" on an amount; if they don't the Court (Judge who signed the subpoena?)shall determine the amount. See section(c), which may be applicable - depending upon what you requested (and how much info the phone company has for you). I've never had a problem getting the records and "fighting" over the fees later.... Good Luck.
