D is being held on a misdemeanor. He was also previously charged with and arrested for felonies. Bond was made on the felony charges. Surety on felony charges gets released from bond while D is in hoosegow on MTR. Is D now entitled to an examining trial on felony charges?

Even if the accused were still out on bail, he would be entitled to an examining trial (unless an indictment were returned in the interim).

Well, there you go. No more examining trial if indicted.

I find most smart JP's set examining trials a few days after the next grand jury meeting. It's called judicial economy.
