What do ya'll think about re-issuing an old arrest warrant to arrest an inmate who was temporarily released of Work-Release but who failed to show back up at the jail to serve his/her sentence.

Get a new warrant for Escape. "Escape" means unauthorized departure from custody or failure to return to custody following temporary leave for a specific purpose or limited period or leave that is part of an intermittent sentence, but does not include a violation of conditions of community supervision or parole other than conditions that impose a period of confinement in a secure correctional facility. PC38.01(2)

Would some form of Capias also be appropriate to regain custody without filing new charges?
