I saw this posted on the home page. The article failed to mention that the defendant was probation eligible. Baird Gets 5 Life Sentences The jury also assessed $10,000 fines for each count. The Court stacked the sentences. The elected DA, Billy Byrd, was extremely successful in making the defense psychologist a the State's expert by the end of his cross-examination. The defense expert acknowledged that the defendant fell into the highest risk level of potential recidivism. After that cross it was game over.
