Who throws a shoe? Honestly?
Well Mr. Newell, our esteemed late former collegue, Mr. Gil Epstein, and I once acheived local notority in 1996 in Fort Bend County by trying a woman who injured another woman who was attempting to steal the boyfriend of the defendant by striking her mere millimeters above the eye with a high heeled shoe, resulting in a pretty nasty gash that if memory serves had to be closed by numerous stitches. Would it surprise you that both women were in their 20's, and that the man was in his late 50's? Would it further surprise you to know that crack cocaine was somehow "involved" with at least our defendant, leading Mr. Epstein to comment privately after the trial about "stupid crackhead tricks"? The defendant was ably, but not successfully, defended by Phoebe Smith and Marci Davidoff. |
