Seems like an odd choice to me. The only guys who carry 7-woods are "senior golfers," so not only did it incriminate the 60yo suspect, but it must have been a grisly scene b/c those clubs are very light, so multiple blows were probably required. Not pretty.

I once prosecuted an assault at a country club where the assailant used a 4-iron. That seemed pretty effective, judging from the evidence.

Nowadays, many people don't carry low irons, preferring hybrid clubs. Hybrids are easier to hit, but not nearly as useful when turned into weapons. If you're going to keep a club under your bed or in the corner of your room, stick with your dad's old Wilson Staff 2-iron. That will lay out someone cold.

Ice missles

"You're driving in the center lane, a day or two after a snowstorm," he says. "Ice on vehicles is starting to melt. You're driving 60 mph, with cars on the left, cars on the right. All of a sudden, you see this sheet of ice do this Olympic dive off the top of a truck in front of you. You can't go left, you can't go right. You just pray to God it doesn't hit you."

A hand held spotlight

Late, late on Friday night we got a verdict for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant. The deadly weapon? The spotlight that the defendants were shining out of their truck during a nighttime pursuit that blinded two of our game wardens.

We had an optometrist come in and give VERY compelling testimony regarding night adaptation, flash blindness, and the effects on driving. The jury didn't have any problem finding that it had been used as a deadly weapon.

The wardens crashed into a culvert and tree, causing a dislocated hip along with various other injuries. The defendant got 50 years from the jury.
