Does anyone know the effective date of that portion of HB79 (the part that amends section 24.012 of the Government Code) that changes the terms of court for ALL district courts to the first Mondays of January and July?
I have Grand Jury coming up and need to know if the change is already in effect.

Ok, it looks like it's effective January 1, 2012.
It's in Article 3 of the Bill and "This Act takes effect January 1, 2012, except Articles 11 and 13 take effect September 28, 2011, and Sections 5.02 and 5.06 take effect May 1, 2013."
