We house some of our prisoners out of the County, about 50 miles away. Under CCP 17.29, when bail is posted the prisoner shall at once be set at liberty. QUESTION: Is the jail required to immediately go get them, as there is not always a transport officer there on weekends? The way the statute reads it seems like they would. Does any other county out there have this situation and what did you do to address this issue? Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
