I went to the ERS website this week to check on my insurance coverage. I was quite shocked to learn that the health care coverage for state paid elected prosecutors is going to be drastically altered beginning May 1 -- less than three weeks from today. We may have won the battle on the ten percent pay cut but if you utilize your health care coverage on a regular basis, as my family does, then it appears we may have lost the war. No more HMO type coverage, for the most part. Everyone now goes to a traditional type policy under Health Select and the hospital benefit is reduced from 90 percent coverage to 80 percent. This is just one of many reductions. If you are a state paid elected you need to take a look at this.
