(Not the old vinyls.)

What is the status of the obstructed license plate statute. I seem to remember a case that invalidated this as probable cause for a traffic stop.

The cases all upheld it as a basis for a stop, but then the law itself was changed. Now instead of any obstruction whatsoever, it has to obscure the numbers or letters on the plate.

It's no longer enough justification for a stop if it only partially obscures one of those do-dad things.

I believe I'm okay. The report says the state was covered up.
