Do we need a lab report on marijuana to prove that it is in fact marijuana? Any help will be appreciated.

No. See Osbourn, 92 S.W.3d 531 (Tex Crim App. 2002).

Be careful if you're alleging more than 2 oz though, because you'll want it officially weighed.
