For reasons I will explain after cool reflection, my Judge is beginning a trial today and has announced we will work Saturday and Sunday. Is there not a rule, case or statute which states no verdict may be returned on Sunday? I pick the jury in a few minutes....could someone please confirm this and point me to the relevant authority?

Looks like you can get a verdict, but may want to wait till Monday for the judgment. See
Price v State 252 SW2d 167 Crim App 1952 and Harris v. State 645 SW2d 447 Crim Apps 1983. Hope that helps.

Gordon, thank you so much! The D finally caved after an hour or so and took the original offer. What would "fact lawyers" like me do without this forum?
