Police: Laxative required to get evidence from drug suspect

A 26-year-old man has been charged with tampering with evidence after police say he pushed a baggie that was suspected of containing drugs further up his rectum during a strip search at the Travis County Jail, an arrest affidavit said.
Details.

[This is a very visual story. Are there enough related stories to keep this thread going?]

Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley took a swipe at a "cite and release" policy Austin police are planning to implement when he announced that a man received a 45-year prison sentence Wednesday after cocaine was found in his rectum during a search at the county jail.

Interesting that Laxative Man's case started off with a misdemeanor amount of marijuana. So he too, along with other Travis County offenders, could have avoided discovery by begging for a ticket.

I like the line, "It's unclear whether Mervin passed the object." ???? What else would have happened to it???

Well, note that he was only charged with tampering with evidence and not POCS. Seems to suggest that the evidence never reappeared in usable form.
