To All,

Section 6.30(a) of the Tax Code states "The county attorney or, if there is no county attorney, the district attorney shall represent the county to enforce the collection of delinquent taxes if the commissioners court does not contract with a private attorney..." Our office is entertaining the idea of collecting delinquent taxes in-house (without hiring a private attorney). I am attempting to analyze the benefits of using in-house attorneys. Does anyone have any statistics on the number of County Attorneys performing the function in-house? I would enjoy speaking with a County Attorney office that collects delinquent taxes in-house.

Check with Travis County Attorney's Office. Jim Collins knows this area well
