I have some out of state officers who have appeared on my doorstep (not literally). It seems they want dna from a suspect that lives in my county for a crime in their state. I assume there is no problem. I am preparing the warrant. Anyone see a problem

Shouldn't be a problem. Make sure it is a mere evidence warrant.

I had an investigator tell me that they only used 'near evidence' warrants when they were lookin' for really small stuff.

We had some detectives from Ohio on a similar mission a few years ago. I had them give their info to an investigator who, as the afffiant, wrote a "Texas" warrant.
